The World of Rebecca Rubin: Celebrating Rebecca

RSVP is required and participation is limited. Contact Allison at ajgreen@jewishlearningworks.org or 415.567.3327 x 703. A suggested donation of $14 to cover material costs is requested and payable at the door.

Come celebrate Rebecca by playing games, creating cameos, watching a hilarious silent film clip, and enjoying refreshments! Attendees are encouraged to bring one "guest" (a doll or stuffed animal, that is) and to dress up in vintage clothes. A photographer will take portraits and pictures.

This program is for children ages seven and above.

Set among the immigrant families of New York City's Lower East Side in 1914, the Rebecca Rubin book series by American Girl Publishing follows a smart and independent-minded girl whose experiences bring her Jewish identity to the foreground. Don't have the books? Borrow all nine of them from the Library!

Event coordinated by Jewish educator Amy Kassiola.
