How do the memories we “inherit,” through stories, photographs, objects, and more, help us understand our identities and inform our actions in the present?
The CJM’s From Generation to Generation: Inherited Memory and Contemporary Art examines memory, sometimes personal, but more often collective or historic, through the lens of art. The 24 participating artists invite us into their worlds, urging us to make connections between past and present, to consider the changing nature of history and memory, and to reflect on how and why certain memories are handed down from generation to generation.
Join Jewish LearningWorks’ Educators Art Network and CJM for an interdisciplinary exploration of exhibition highlights, personal reflection, designing of creative connections applicable to your school environment, and hands-on art activity led by a local artist.
Lunch will be provided.
All educators are welcome.
RSVP is required. Space is limited.
