About your instructors: Julie Emden will be leading this retreat, with assistance from special guest faculty Mia Miriam Cohen, Kendra Fried, and Tracey Green.
Julie Emden, RYT-500, is the founder and director of the Embodied Jewish Learning Initiative at Jewish LearningWorks in San Francisco. A graduate of five fellowship and teaching certification programs related to her work as a Jewish educator, Iyengar-based yoga instructor and movement/expressive artist, Julie has eighteen years of experience guiding others in exploring Jewish wisdom, text and practices via the body in a variety of settings. Her greatest passion is to move and dance and to share that joy with others.
Mia Miriam Cohen is serving the B'nai Israel Jewish Center as the Rabbinic Associate. She grew up in Nashville, TN and did her undergraduate work in Asheville, North Carolina at Warren Wilson College. She lived abroad in Israel for several years as a Talmidah Chachamah, student of Jewish Wisdom and spent more then a decade immersed in Jewish Learning through the Aleph Alliance for Jewish Renewal. Mia has led numerous retreats, kids & family programs, Shabbat & Holiday services, and interfaith events. Mia is currently working towards ordination as a Spiritual Director through the Aleph Alliance for Jewish Renewal. She is a facilitator of life cycle ceremonies, a Yoga teacher, Herbalist, and a Doula.
Kendra Fried is the founder of Neshamah Yoga & Wellness.™ She is a yoga therapist, educator, and facilitator of embodied Judaism and spirituality. Kendra is a board certified holistic health counselor, and a graduate of the Yoga and Jewish Wisdom Teacher Training offered by Jewish Learning Works in San Francisco. Her soul’s passion and calling are to guide people inward on a journey toward healing, transformation, and a deeper connection to themselves and the Divine.
Tracey Green Tracey has over 1000 hours of Yoga Teachers Training and 20 years experience teaching yoga. Tracey receives great pleasure teaching students how to bring more attention to the presence of their bodies while flowing through yoga poses and attending to the breath. She creates a safe, peaceful space to explore and feel renewed in mind body and spirit. She is a graduate of Jewish LearningWorks’ Yoga and Jewish Wisdom Teacher Training and teaches regularly at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center in Foster City.

If, after purchasing, you are unable to come to the retreat, please let us know. If we have a waiting list, we will be happy to refund your ticket minus a $75 cancellation fee. If we do not have a waiting list, you will be responsible to sell your ticket to someone else.
