Apartment for Rent – Puppet Show

Apartment for Rent is a dynamic, inventive program introducing students to Israel’s most beloved children’s book written by renowned author Leah Goldberg. The story depicts a group of animals who live in the same building and are looking for a new tenant, who will have to be accepting of their diversity and willing to live with them in peace and harmony.

The program includes a set and puppets for creating a puppet show in your school. Educational materials include the story in Hebrew and English, background, exploration of core Jewish values, resources, games and other activities.

Technical Requirements: The program includes a puppet show set. Once assembled, it measures approximately 7’(L) x 7’(H) x 3’(D).

The set comes in two portfolios measuring 37”(L) x 25”(W) x 8”(D) each, and a suitcase with puppets.

Grades: For pre-K through fourth grade

Poster Tales/Krazot Mesaprot

These colorful posters, designed for Israel’s Independence Day from 1949 and beyond, form the backdrop for this exhibit and program. The posters offer rare insight into Israel’s national mood and aspirations as well as a historic, design, and aesthetic timeline. Consists of:

  • 60 Color, laminated posters, measuring 11”x 17”
  • Two educational booklets with background on each poster
  • Lesson plans, suggested activities, PowerPoint presentation

Technical Requirements: The posters come in a box and can be easily hung or displayed

Grades: For fourth grade through adult

Tel Aviv Exploration

Tel Aviv Exploration offers a virtual tour of the vibrant city by inviting participants to explore its 100-year history, culture, and landscape. The experiential tour of the first Hebrew city reveals its many faces and its importance in the making of the contemporary Jewish state. The educational journey presents an opportunity to explore participants’ connection to Israel, the land and its people.

The program/exhibit is composed of six interactive stations which include hands-on activities, video and audio clips, visual and written information. The 150-page binder includes:

  • Background material and educational rationale
  • Maps
  • Activities for each station
  • Related articles and bibliography

Technical requirements: The exhibit has 6 stations each measuring 72”(H) x 48”(W)

Requires easy assembly and space for display and activities. AV connection in each station is preferable.

Grades: For 4th grade and up

Coexistence Exhibit

The Museum on the Seam for Dialogue, Understanding and Coexistence in Jerusalem initiated and produced this unusual and thought provoking poster exhibition. The exhibition is composed of 32 visual images of coexistence created by artists from around the world.

The exhibit is accompanied by educational materials including quotes about peace and coexistence. There are activities designed to engage the students in discussions about coexistence in Israel, around the world and in our community, and suggested art projects.

Technical requirements: The exhibit comes in two boxes measuring 42”(L) x 30”(W) x 5”(D), with 32 foam core mounted posters (39”x27”) ready to hang or to present on easels, and a folder with educational material.

Herzl: Up Close and Personal

The exhibit, produced by World Zionist Organization, celebrates the visionary of the Jewish state. Through photographs, illustrations, graphics, text and the accompanying program activities, participants learn about Herzl’s life, explore what a Jewish national home as imagined by Herzl might have looked like, examine how contemporary realities measure up to his century old blueprint, and ponder its relevance today. The exhibit consists of:

  • 6 stations of interlocking panels comprised of stimulating visuals and texts
  • A handbook for educators containing program suggestions and supporting materials.
  • An engaging, interactive visitor guide.

Technical Requirements: The exhibit comes in 2 large boxes measuring 42”(L) x 27”(W) x 8.5”(D), with 28 interlocking panels for 6 stations.

The exhibition is modular and can be set up in areas as 250 square feet or the length of approximately 50 feet.

Not all stations have to be displayed or be in the same room.

Grades: For middle school through adult

Voices & Visions

The exhibit Voices & Visions™ is about art, its powerful messaging, conversation, and our continuing Jewish journey. This collection of 18 images pairs leading figures of contemporary art and design with powerful quotes from Jewish thinkers across the ages.

The exhibit of eighteen laminated images is accompanied by educational guidelines to promote conversation about identity and other issues.

Technical Requirements: Space for hanging 18 images measuring 11”X14”

Grades: Fourth Grade and up. Some images are appropriate for younger grades.
