Family Access Day at The Contemporary Jewish Museum
736 Mission St., San Francisco, CA 94103
Sunday, Dec 11, 2016 | 10am–11:30am(Doors open at 9:45am)
Families of children with disabilities or other health-care needs and their friends are welcome to join us for an art-filled day, including a multi sensory gallery tour, art studio, musical performance, a clowning workshop, and a Calming Corner room. Our early opening allows families to explore the Museum and have some quiet time. This program is presented in partnership with Support for Families of Children with Disabilities, INCLUDE: A program of Jewish LearningWorks, Variety: The Children’s Charity of Northern California, and the Medical Clown Project.
Calming Corner is a low-sensory atmosphere for families and children needing a calm and less-crowded space during their visit to The CJM. The Calming Corner includes a light table, tactile activities, bean bags, and a reading nook. Designed for children with disabilities and sensory processing needs, but everyone is welcome. Snacks will be provided.
We also offer noise-cancelling headphones available to borrow during your visit. Please inquire at the check-in desk when you arrive.
