A Way With Words: Reflecting On The Way Jewish Values Play Out in Our Lives

  • Location to be determined, San Francisco (map)

Please join Rachel Brodie for an 8-session series utilizing text study, hevruta and reflective writing. In Rachel's words: "I recently picked up Rebecca Solnit’s newest book, Call Them by Their True Names: American Crises (and Essays) and on page four I read this: “The search for meaning is in how you live your life but also in how you describe it and what else is around you… Once we call it by name, we can start having a real conversation about our priorities and values… Being careful and precise about language is one way to oppose the disintegration of meaning, to encourage the beloved community and conversations that inculcate hope and vision.”

It is my hope and vision that in studying Jewish teachings that link language and values we will feel energized instead of exhausted, less impotent and defended, more empathic and forgiving."
