Join us for a three day retreat for anyone who works with Jewish teens in the Bay Area. This three-day immersive experience will build community among us as professionals and help give us the tools to do our work better. Much of the content of the retreat will be led by Dr. Kathy Simon on the topic of "Real Talk, Caring Talk: Keeping it authentic and kind in our work with teens, parents and colleagues. (content description below).
Human beings get into conflict. But far from what our current societal discourse suggests, conflict does not have to create winners and losers. Conflict can, instead, lead to deeper understanding, better collaboration, and everyone getting more of what they want and need. Specific skills — for listening fully and speaking in ways that are most likely to be heard — can make a huge difference in how conflict plays out. Drawing on the insights of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), we’ll explore ways of feeling empowered to share our truths in ways that resonate with others and to be empathic even with people we find challenging. Bring your real-world situations and get ready for practice!
The cost of the retreat is $154.
